Xiaomi, under the Youpin crowdfunding platform, has launched a new projector called the Wanbo T2 Free Projector. This device carries a price tag of 599 Yuan (~$85).
The new projector is said to be compatible with a resolution of 1080 pixels and has a 150 ANSI lumen light source. The device can project from a distance of about 1.5 – 3.0 meters, on screen sizes ranging from 40 – 120 inches.
However, this projector does not focus its images on the display board or screen automatically. It is manually focused using a scrolling button located at the rear of the device. The projector has support for ±40° vertical keystone correction.
Generally, projectors are known to be affected by dust, especially when it settles on the lens. The presence of dust on the lens of a projector causes poor heat dissipation in the optical part and black spots on the screen.
Putting into consideration the effects of dust on the lens of a projector, the Wanbo T2 Free employs a fully enclosed internal circulation heat dissipation optical machine technology. The design of the device allows for the complete elimination of the effect of dust buildup on the optical path-thereby, increasing the lifespan of the projector.
Furthermore, the projector uses a diffuse reflection technology as against the conventional self-illumination imaging. Diffuse reflection imaging is softer, so it exerts less strain on the eye when viewed for an extended period.
The Wanbo T2 Free features speakers on its left and right side. Inside the device is a turbo-fan that circulates the heat inside the projector and drives away the heat of the LCD panel from the device.
The projector features AV, HDMI, and other input interfaces on its back panel. With efficient dispersal of heat, the LED bulb promises up to 20,000 hours of operation.
