Xiaomi Mi TV 3S Curve, Flat FHD variant Android TV launched

Electronics company Xiaomi has announced a new addition to its growing TV lineup, the Xiaomi Mi TV 3S, at a media conference in Beijing, China.

The Mi TV 3S comes in two variants- there’s a 65-inch ‘Curved’ 4K panel version and also a 43-inch flat FHD panel version.

The 65-inch Mi TV 3S Curve offers a 4K curved display and has a price tag of CNY 8,999 (that’s about 276,000 Naira).

The TVs are currently only available for purchase in China. The 43-inch FHD variant costs less considerably, having a price tag of CNY 1,799 (that’s roughly 56,000 Naira).

The Mi TV 3S Curve’s 65-inch curved display of 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) is manufactured by Samsung according to Xiaomi

The screen promises a 4,000:1 contrast, 176° viewing angle and 78% NTSC color gamut coverage.

The Chinese tech firm said the new TV is super slim as well- its waistline measures just 5.9mm. The smart TV is powered by an Mstar 6A928 TV processor which is coupled with 2GB of RAM. Out of the box it runs on Android MIUI.

The device sports 8GB of internal memory. There’s however a USB 3.0 port where users to hook up an external drive. Added to this is another USB 2.0 port. Users can connect a Wi-Fi ac or Ethernet to connect to a NAS.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 3S Curve also offers support for Dolby and DTS audio dual decoding. It comes with Mi TV bar which houses an impressive independent 6-piece sound system.

Xiaomi said the Mi TV bar’s retail cost has been covered by the overall cost of the smart TV.

The 43-inch Mi TV 3S variant on the other hand has a 10.9mm ultra-thin metal body and frame.

It sports a full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) screen and has an Mstar 6A908 processor fueling it. This is further coupled with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.

The device also offers support for Dolby DTS audio dual decoding and runs on Android MIUI, a company spokesperson said.
