In a leaked invitation card, the release date to the long-anticipated sequel of OnePlus latest OnePlus 6 flagship has been revealed.
In the leaked invitation with an “Unlock The Speed” tagline, the upcoming OnePlus 6T will be officially unveiled in India on October 17.
According to many rumours and speculations, the OnePlus will launch with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Hence the “Unlock The Speed” tagline. This will mark OnePlus’ debut into the under-display fingerprint readers ecosystem; joining Vivo, Oppo, Huawei and the likes. Samsung is also looking to join the group with its upcoming Galaxy S10.
Like the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), the OnePlus is also expected to have triple camera setup on the rear and be the company’s first triple rear camera smartphone. Still on the subject of similarities, the rectangular display notch (as on the OnePlus 6) will be redesigned to look like the Oppo R17 Pro waterdrop notch.
IP water resistance, no 3.5mm headphone jack, and 1080p AMOLED display are other expected specs of the upcoming OnePlus 6T.
The authenticity of the invite cannot be confirmed but it is expected that, given the date on the leaked invite, OnePlus will officially announce the release date soon enough — this week or next.
