Following weeks and months of leaks, rumours, renders and speculations, Chinese smartphone giant, OnePlus has officially taken the veil off its flagship smartphone for 2018 — the OnePlus 6.
At an event held in London, OnePlus introduced to the world, a top-of-the-line smartphone that is set to rival other premium and more expensive flagships from other top brands like Samsung, LG, Apple, HTC etc.
The OnePlus 6 that was launched looked just like the image we saw in this leak, and happens to contradict one of the latest report that the device could have a single camera on the rear.
The OnePlus 6 launched with a 6.28-inch full-view display with a 19:9 aspect and a notch, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering the front and back with metal frame round the edges. Like the OnePlus 5T, the fingerprint sensor is on the rear, to allow more room for the display and reduce bezel on the front.
The OnePlus 6 has a dual camera set-up on the rear; a 16-megapixels primary lens and 20-megapixels secondary lens. Both sensors have a wide f/1.7 aperture and come with improved optical image stabilization. On the front, a 16MP sensor is in charge of capturing selfies.
Interestingly, both the front and rear camera have optical image stabilization and have portrait mode. No doubt, the camera of the OnePlus 6 will do wonders as OnePlus had earlier boasted before launch that the camera of the flagship will trump that of the Galaxy S9, Pixel 2, and iPhone X.
The device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC and per storage, comes in different variants. RAM: 6GB or 8GB. In terms of ROM: 64GB, 128GB or 256GB). There is no room for storage expansion.
The OnePlus 6 is available in Midnight Black, Mirror Black, and Silk White colour variants runs the Android v8.1 Oreo OS, powered by a 3,300mAh battery, and Bluetooth 5.0. The device is expected to sell at the following prices when shipping begins:
