The Best Airtel Data Plan overall

Airtel 100GB Monthly Data Plan

We pick this data plan as the overall best because it offers a reasonable amount of value without being overly expensive. At a price of ₦20,000, this 100GB monthly data plan offers around 20 kobo per MB.

This is just 5 kobo more per MB than the most cost-effective data plan from Airtel and it is five times cheaper too making it a sweet deal.

In fact, to get a better deal than this you will have to spend ₦10,000 more for the 160GB plan which goes for ₦30,000. This gives you a rate of 19 kobo per MB, which is just 1 kobo savings per MB.

So, if your budget is ₦20,000, this is the plan to pick. We consider it the overall best Airtel data plan because at ₦20,000 it is more affordable for most users in Nigeria while offering a reasonable amount of value.

This is a great plan if you have an Airtel 5G Router or you are using a 4G router. It is also great for 5G phones. The Airtel 100GB plan is a good entry-level plan for content creators.

It offers a decent amount of data allowance to handle all the web browsing, downloading, uploading, and streaming required for creating the best content.

Rate: 20 kobo/MB

The Best Value Airtel Data Plan

Airtel 650GB 365-Day Data Plan

At 15 kobo per MB, the 650GB Yearly Bundle is the best Airtel Data Plan if you are looking for the best value. The price is steep at ₦100,000, but if it is within your budget, you will get the best value on this plan.

This is a great data plan for heavy users. Although, it has a validity period of 365 days (i.e. 1 year), if you are a heavy user it may only last you for about 2 to 3 months. For example, if you use an average of about 10GB per day, this data plan will last for a little over 2 months, which adds up to about ₦50,000 per month.

This is the best Airtel Data Plan if your budget allows. It is great for content creators, who are always uploading, downloading, and streaming. It works great with your Airtel 5G router and other 5G and even 4G devices.

Rate: 15 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦3000

MTN 10GB Weekly Plan

If your budget is just ₦3000, the 10GB weekly plan is the best plan for you. You get 10GB of data valid for 7 days just for ₦3000. The downside of this plan is that it is only valid for 7 days, which means that if you can only budget ₦3000 for a month, it will not work for you. It should be able to handle all your browsing and streaming needs for the week.

If you are looking for a monthly plan, Airtel has an 8GB monthly plan that costs ₦3000.

Rate: 30 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦5000

Airtel 18GB Weekly Plan

If your budget is anything between ₦5000 and even ₦10,000, this 18GB plan that costs ₦5000 for a value of 28 kobo/MB is the best Airtel data plan money can buy. Being a weekly plan it only has a 7-day validity, which can be a problem if your budget is for a month.

It is a great plan if you can spend ₦5000 in a week or ₦10,000 in two weeks (i.e. 36GB in 2 weeks). It is also a great plan for browsing and streaming without breaking the bank.

If you are looking for a monthly plan, Airtel has a 13GB monthly plan that costs ₦5000 (Rate: 38 kobo/MB). There is also a 15GB Everyday-On monthly plan that goes for ₦4000, which at 27 kobo/MB offers great value.

However, if you are going for an Everyday-on plan remember their limitation, which is that they limit the amount of data you can use in a day. For example, the 15GB Everyday-On plan will limit you to 500MB per day for 30 days.

This means that if you use more than 500MB on a given day, you will no longer be able to browse until the following day. Of course, you can always subscribe to a 1-day plan to stay online until the next day.

Rate: 28 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦10,000

Airtel 40GB Everyday-On Monthly Plan

This Data Plan offers 1.33GB per day for 30 days at a price of ₦7500. At a rate of 19 kobo/MB, it is one of the best-value Airtel Data Plans.

The downside is that because it is an Everyday-On plan it has a daily limit and once you hit your limit for the day you will no longer be able to browse until the next day except you subscribe to another data plan like a one-day plan, which can be inconvenient.

The great thing about Airtel Everyday-On plans is that they help you control the amount of data you use every day, ensuring you stay connected throughout the validity period.

This is a great data plan for you if your daily usage is around 1GB most of the time. It is also a great plan for Android Phones and iPhones.

Rate: 19 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦15,000

Airtel 60GB Monthly Plan

The plan offers 60GB for ₦15,000 and is valid for 30 days. It is a great plan for streaming your videos and watching videos on YouTube. Like most of the Airtel monthly plans, this plan is bundled with an additional 2GB of free YouTube Night streaming and 200MB all-day access on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. This is a good entry-level plan for your Airtel 5G Router. The plan will make sense for users whose daily usage averages around 2GB.

Rate: 25 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Weekly Data Plan

Airtel 18GB Weekly Data Plan

If you are looking for a cost-effective weekly plan from Airtel there are a couple of options to choose from like the more affordable 10GB weekly plan that costs ₦3000. However, if you use an average of 2GB or more per day and can spare a bit more, we recommend you go for the 18GB weekly plan which goes for ₦5000 and offers slightly better value.

The Airtel 18GB 7-day plan is the best Airtel weekly data plan if you do a decent amount of downloading and streaming throughout the week.

Rate: 28 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦1000

Airtel 1.5GB Weekly Plan

If your budget is 1000 Naira, there is currently no Airtel monthly data plan that costs ₦1000 NGN or less. With a budget of ₦1000, the best you can get is the Airtel 1.5GB weekly plan. This Airtel Data Plan costs ₦1000 and has a validity period of 7 days. Airtel also offers a 1GB weekly bundle at ₦800 and a 500MB weekly bundle at ₦500.

Rate: 67 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦50,000

Airtel 300GB 3-Month Plan

If you need more than 120GB in a month and cannot spare ₦60,000 for the 350GB 6-Month Plan or ₦100,000 for the 650GB 365-Day plan, this 300GB 90-day plan is your best Airtel Data Plan for you.

This is a great data plan for heavy users. It costs ₦50,000 with a 90-day validity. If you use about 10GB per day, it will last for a month with enough capacity for all the browsing, uploading, downloading, and streaming for a very active lifestyle online.

Rate: 17 kobo/MB

The Best Airtel Data Plan under ₦30,000

Airtel 160GB Monthly Data Plan

This is a great plan if your daily usage averages about 5GB per month. At 19 kobo/MB, it offers slightly better value than our pick for the overall best Airtel data plan.

With the price at ₦30,000, you are paying ₦10,000 more, but also getting 60GB more and about 1 kobo savings per Megabyte compared to our overall best pick, the 120GB monthly plan.

The Airtel 160GB Plan is great for your 5G and 4G routers as well as your 5G and 4G phones.

Best MTN Data Plans

With the recent increase in prices of MTN Data Plans by as much as 50% many users in Nigeria are now searching for more cost-effective internet packages. We have analyzed all the newly updated MTN data plans and in this article, we share the best MTN Data Plans for browsing and streaming in 2025.

MTN has completely overhauled its data plans. They have discontinued some of their most generous plans and increased the prices of others. However, if you look very good, there are still some great offers. For example, before the latest price updates, the minimum price for the most cost-effective plan was ₦100,000, which is a rate of 10 kobo per MB; now, you can get the same 10 kobo per MB for ₦150,000 or ₦30,000 depending on the plan you choose.

Keep reading because in this post we will reveal the overall best value MTN Data Plans.

The MTN Unlimited Data Plans and other cost-effective data plans like some of the Broadband and Multi-Month plans were briefly withdrawn in February. However, in March 2025 MTN returned the Silver and Ruby Unlimited plans as well as a couple of highly cost-effective Broadband Plans.

MTN has also simplified its data plans making it easy for you to find the best fit for your browsing, downloading, uploading, and streaming requirements.

Now let’s take a look at our pick for Best MTN Data Plans right now. Once you find the right fit for your use case, head to shop.mtn.ng or the myMTN NG App to subscribe to the plan. You can also dial *312*1# to subscribe to any plan mentioned on this page.

The Best MTN Data Plans overall

MTN 200GB Broadband Monthly Plan

If you are looking for a data plan that strikes the right balance between value and affordable, the MTN 200GB Broadband plan is a great pick. Though it is third in terms of value, we chose it as the overall best MTN data plan because at ₦25,000 it is a lot more affordable than the best value plans which goes for ₦150,000 or ₦30,000 and offers just about 3 kobo savings per Megabyte.

It even offers better value than the 450GB 90-day Broadband plan and 480GB 90-day package that go for ₦75,000 and ₦90,000 respectively.

This is a great plan if your internet usage per day averages around 6GB. Even if you use more than an average of 6GB per day, it is still a good internet package. For example, subscribing to this package twice adds up to 400GB at ₦50,000, which is still a lot lower than ₦150,000. This is a great plan if you do a lot of streaming, uploading, and downloading

The 200GB Broadband Plan is great for your MTN 5G Router and even MTN 4G Routers if you are in a superfast 4G coverage area. MTN adds 5GB of free YouTube streaming and Microsoft Teams/Zoom to this plan.

This data plan can only be accessed with MTN devices like the MTN 5G Router, 4G Router and MiFi. You cannot subscribe to this plan with your mobile phone.

Rate: 13 kobo/MB

MTN Silver Monthly Unlimited Data Plan

With a rate of 13 kobo/MB, the Silver monthly unlimited data plan ties for the best MTN data plans overall. This is even when you discount the 5GB daily limit you get when you use up the 150GB fair usage policy (FUP) before the end of the 30-day validity period. It is also more affordable at ₦20,000. This is a solid data internet package if your daily usage averages around 5GB per day.

However, like the 200GB monthly Broadband plan, you can only subscribe to the plan on your routers or MiFi (i.e. you can not subscribe to this plan on your phone). In fact, if you want to get the best data rates on MTN it is best to buy a router or MiFi.

Rate: 13 kobo/MB

The Best Value MTN Data Plans

MTN Ruby Monthly Unlimited Data Plan

The MTN Ruby Monthly Unlimited Data plan has an FUP of 300GB and costs ₦30,000. If you exhaust your FUP before the end of the 30-day validity period, you will get 5GB per day till the end of your validity period.

This makes it one of the best-value MTN data plans. It is the best MTN data plan for high-data users. If you use an average of 10GB per day, it will be an excellent choice for monthly internet access.

You can not subscribe to this plan on a mobile phone, you will need an MTN device like a router or MiFi in order to subscribe to this internet package.

Rate: 10 kobo/MB

MTN 1.5TB 365-Day Broadband Plan

At a rate of 10 kobo per Megabyte, the MTN 1.5TB Broadband plan is the best value MTN Data Plan right now, displacing the 450GB 90-day Broadband plan. This is the plan you go for if you want to get the best value.

The downside is that at ₦150,000 the price is a bit on the high side. However, it has a validity period of 365 days, which means that if you keep your average data usage to about 4GB per day, you can spread the cost over a period of 12 months (₦12,500).

It is the best value plan for heavy users. However, how long it lasts will depend on your usage. For example, if your average daily usage is around 15GB, it will last you for 100 days (i.e. 3 months and 10 days). This is a great plan if you are a content creator. It comes with enough capacity to handle all your needs for uploading, downloading, and streaming.

This is also a great plan for remote work if you work in teams. Just Connect the 5G Router and the whole team can share the data while enjoying the superfast speed of the MTN 5G network.

Rate: 10 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Data Plan under ₦3000

MTN 3.5GB Weekly Plan

If your budget is ₦3000, this weekly plan has the best value for you. The only downside is that it is valid for just 7 days but at a price of ₦1500 for 3.5GB, it is a steal. While not as cost-effective as the ₦1500 for 5GB plan which has now been discontinued, it is a decent offer.

Subscribing to this plan weekly for a month will come to ₦6000 for 14GB in 28 days, which is a decent deal when you compare this with the current MTN monthly plans around the same price point of 6000 Naira.

The MTN 5GB weekly plan is the best MTN Data Plan if affordability is a priority to you. It is also the best plan if your budget is less than 2000 Naira. The plan is great for low-income earners who can not afford to pay for monthly data plans. Such subscribers can pay ₦1500 weekly to stay connected.

All the plans we have highlighted in this article so far can not be subscribed to on a mobile phone. The 3.5GB weekly plan is different. This is a great plan for Android Phones and iPhones. It is generally a great data plan if you are browsing on mobile phones, especially if your weekly and monthly budget for internet access is ₦3000 or ₦6,000 respectively, or below.

Rate: 43 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Data Plan under ₦5000

MTN 20GB Weekly Plan

If your budget is ₦5000, this 20GB plan offers an incredible value at a rate of 25 kobo per Megabyte. The downside is that it is a weekly plan, so is valid for just 7-day, which could be a problem if your budget is for a month.

If your budget is for a month, I suggest you add ₦500 and go for the 18.6GB Always-On plan, which offers up to 18.6GB for ₦5500. You may also prefer the 10GB monthly plan for ₦4500.

MTN 20GB weekly plan is recommended for those weeks you expect to be very active online with a lot of downloads, streaming, and uploads. As long as your daily average usage is roughly 2.5GB, it should serve you for an entire week.

Rate: 25 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Data Plans under ₦10,000

MTN 45GB Always-on Monthly Data Plan

This is the best MTN data plan if you are looking for a monthly subscription plan for your mobile phone. It offers a daily limit of 1.5GB for 30 days at a price of ₦9000. This means that if you use up to 1.5GB on a particular day, you will not be able to access the internet until the following day. Of course, you can subscribe to a one-day plan to stay connected until the next day.

Despite this inconvenience, the MTN 45GB Always-on Monthly Plan offers incredible value at 20 kobo/MB. The great thing about daily limits that come with the MTN Always-On plans is that they help you control the amount of data you use every day, ensuring you stay connected throughout the validity period.

Rate: 20 kobo/MB

MTN 30GB Broadband Plan

This is one of the Best MTN Data Plans if your monthly budget for internet access is 10,000 Naira or less. At 9000 NGN for 30GB, it offers the same value as the 5GB weekly plan, but with a 30-day validity period.

If your daily usage averages around 1GB, then this plan will be perfect for you. The downside is that it is a Broadband plan and may not be supported by every device. Broadband plans are usually focused on MTN 5G and 4G routers. You also get 5GB of free YouTube streaming on this plan.

Rate: 30 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Data Plan under ₦15,000

MTN 60GB Broadband Plan

This is another broadband plan. The plan offers 60GB for ₦14,500 and is valid for 30 days. It is a great plan for streaming your videos and watching videos on YouTube. Like all the other broadband plans MTN adds 5GB of free YouTube streaming to this plan. This is a good entry-level plan for your MTN 5G Router. The plan will make sense for users whose daily usage averages around 2GB.

Rate: 24 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Weekly Data Plans

MTN 20GB Weekly Data Plan

If you are looking for a cost-effective weekly plan, this MTN 20GB plan at ₦5000 is the best offer you would find. This is the best weekly data plan from MTN if you use an average of 2.5GB per day. If you are looking for an internet package that will enable you to maintain an active lifestyle online without breaking the bank, this is it. This is also another great plan if you subscribe on your smartphone or use your smartphone as a hotspot.

Rate: 25 kobo/MB

MTN 11GB Weekly Data Plan

If your budget for weekly browsing is less than ₦5000, your next best option is this plan, which offers 11GB for ₦3500. This is also another great plan you can subscribe to on your smartphone. It is recommended for users with an average daily data usage of 1.5GB.

Rate: 32 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Daily Data Plan

MTN 1.5GB Daily Data Plan

If daily internet subscription is your thing, the 1.5GB plan at just ₦400 offers the best value. Daily internet plans only make sense as backup plans. For example, if your main data plan expires and you are low on cash to resubscribe, a daily plan like the 1.5GB plan might just be what you need.

Daily plans are also great for heavy data days. So, if you anticipate that you may be downloading or streaming a lot on a given day, you can subscribe to a daily plan like the 1.5GB plan. This will enable you to save the data allowance on your main data plan at least for that day.

Rate: 27 kobo/MB

The Best MTN Data Plan under ₦1000

MTN used to offer a 1.2GB monthly data plan at a price of ₦1000 but since the latest price updates, there are no MTN monthly data plans for ₦1000 or less. However, if you are low on funds with a budget of ₦1000 or less there are a couple of weekly or daily plans that will enable you to stay online even when you are broke.

Here are some of the Best MTN Data Plans if your budget is ₦1000 or less:

1. 1.5GB Daily Plan (27 kobo/MB): At just ₦400 for 1.5GB this plan is a good value for money and is valid for one day. This is the best MTN data plan for daily browsing and is a great plan for when you use up the daily limit for an Always-on plan, you use it to stay connected for the rest of the day.

2. 3.2GB 2-Day Plan (31 kobo/MB): This plan is valid for 2 days and offers you a decent 3.2GB at a price of ₦1000.

3. 2.5GB Daily Plan (30 kobo/MB): This daily plan offers 2.5GB for ₦750. It is a great plan for those days when you have a lot of uploads and downloads to do.

4. 2GB 2-Day Plan (36 kobo/MB): With this 2-day plan you get 2GB for ₦750. It is just another great plan if your budget is less than ₦1000.

5. 1.5GB 2-Day Plan (40 kobo/MB): This is another option for 2-Day browsing. Like most 2-day plans, it is great for browsing during the weekends.

6. 1GB Daily Plan (50 kobo/MB): This 1-day plan offers 1GB for ₦500. The 1.5GB daily plan offers more value than this one. This plan however adds 1 minute, 30 seconds of free call.

7. 2.5GB 2-Day Plan (36 kobo/MB): This 2-day plan offers 2.5GB for ₦900. I will go for the 3.2GB 2-day data plan instead except I do not have the extra ₦100 to complete the cost.

8. 1.2GB 7-Day MTN Pulse Plan (58 kobo/MB): This plan costs ₦700 and requires you to opt-in to MTN Pulse. This is the best MTN data plan under ₦1000 if you are looking for a weekly plan.

9. 1.5GB 7-Day Plan (67 kobo/MB): This is the best MTN weekly plan that you can buy for ₦1000 if you do not opt-in to MTN Pulse.

Rate: 30 kobo/MB

MTN 450GB 3-Month Broadband Data Plan

At a rate of 17 kobo per Megabyte, the MTN 450GB plan was the best value MTN Data Plan in February. However, since the launch of the 200GB monthly and 1.5TB yearly plans as well as the return of some MTN unlimited data plans, it has kind of lost out in the pecking order, though still one of the best MTN data plans in terms of value.

It has a validity period of 90 days, which means that if you keep your average data usage to about 5GB per day, you can spread the cost over a period of 3 months. The plan costs ₦75,000.

The 450GB 90-day plan is great for content creators and comes with enough capacity to handle all your needs for uploading, downloading, and streaming.

MTN discontinues Unlimited Data Plans

0
MTN Unlimited Data Plans were great for your MTN 5G Router

MTN stopped offering unlimited data plans in February as part of its ongoing price review. A check we made in February 2025 on the company’s website showed that MTN Unlimited Data Plans were no longer on offer. However, this appears to be temporary as MTN restored the Silver and Ruby Unlimited Data Plan in early March 2025.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have observed a lot of volatility on MTN Data Plans with many plans (especially the best value plans) being withdrawn and others changing in prices. The unlimited data plans and the Broadband Night Plans seem to be the latest casualty.

The MTN Unlimited Data plans were the best data plans if you have an MTN 5G Router. They offered great data allowance and when you used up your data allowance, you get daily data support until the end of your subscription period.

For example, the Monthly Silver Unlimited MTN Data Plan (our favorite) was priced at ₦18,000 with an FUP of 150GB with 5GB per day once you exceed your 150GB FUP. The price was initially increased to 20,000 Naira and daily data after FUP was reduced to 2GB, but was discontinued along with the other unlimited data plans in February.

The Bronze, Silver, Ruby, and Gold Unlimited plans were our recommended plans if you have an MTN 5G Router.

However, MTN has restored the Silver and Ruby plans while also introducing a 200GB Monthly Broadband Plan for ₦25,000 and restoring the super cost-effective 1.5TB Yearly Broadband Plan for ₦150,000. All these plans are great options for your MTN 5G Router or your MiFi.

The updated MTN Silver Unlimited Data Plan has a 150GB fair usage policy (FUP) and a 5GB daily limit once you exceed FUP until you complete the validity period of 30 days. The plan saw a slight price adjustment to ₦20,000 (from ₦18,000 pre price hike), an 11% increase.

The MTN Ruby Unlimited Data Plan was restored ‘as is’. It still has a 300GB FUP and a 5GB daily limit once you exceed FUP until you complete the validity period of 30 days. The price is still ₦30,000.

The MTN Broadband plans and the unlimited plans are the best data plans for your MTN 5G Router and MiFi.

MTN currently offers four monthly broadband plans: a 30GB plan for ₦9000, a 60GB plan for ₦14,500, a 120GB plan for ₦24,000, and a 200GB plan for ₦25,000 which in addition to the MTN unlimited data plans are our recommended plan if you have a 5G Router. 15 Strangest Interview Questions Companies Actually Ask

0
Interview Questions

Photo by Dylan Gillis on Unsplash

Interview questions can sometimes be downright bizarre, but there’s often a method to the madness.

Companies like Facebook, Google, and Apple use these unconventional interview questions to delve deeper into a candidate’s thought processes, creativity, and personality.

James Dooley from Searcharoo gives us a look at 15 of the strangest interview questions companies have actually asked, along with the rationale behind them. James also provides tips on how to approach them effectively.

The Strangest Interview Questions From Top Brands

1. Cisco: “If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be and why?”

Choose a tree that represents your qualities and values, as the question aims to assess your personality and self-perception.

Explain your choice with attributes that align with the role you’re applying for.

2. Facebook: “25 racehorses, no stopwatch. 5 tracks. Figure out the top three fastest horses in the fewest number of races.”

This is one of those interview questions that evaluates your mathematical ability. To answer this question, break down the problem into smaller, manageable parts. Consider grouping the horses and conducting elimination races to find the top contenders efficiently.

3. Google: “How many basketballs would fit in this room?”

As this evaluates your estimation skills and logical reasoning, you should think about the volume of the room and the size of a basketball. Provide a structured estimation process rather than a random guess.

4. Blizzard Entertainment: “If you could have dinner with any three people (dead or alive), who would they be?”

Interview questions like this enable you to reveal your personal interests and values. Choose the individuals who have inspired you or whose work aligns with your career and personal values. Explain the significance of each choice.

5. Bed Bath & Beyond: “If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why?”

This question gauges your creativity and personality fit. You should therefore pick a cereal that resonates with your personality and strengths. Be creative in linking your choice to your professional traits.

6. Goldman Sachs: “How would you explain a database in three sentences to your eight-year-old nephew?”

This tests your ability to simplify complex concepts. Therefore, you should use simple language and relatable analogies. Focus on clarity and comprehension.

7. American Heart Association: “What’s the color of money?”

How you pay attention to detail and cultural knowledge is central to this question. But this answer may vary by country. In the U.S., for example, money is predominantly green.

8. Microsoft: “If you had a choice between two superpowers, being invisible or flying, which would you choose?”

This reveals one’s personality traits and decision-making process. Reflect on the implications of each superpower and choose one that aligns with your values and professional strengths.

9. Intel: “How would you design a spice rack for the blind?”

This sounds like a trick question, but fear not. Think of the question as nothing but something that will evaluate your problem-solving and empathy skills.

Consider the needs and challenges faced by visually impaired individuals. Focus on practical and inclusive design solutions.

10. Apple: “If you were a pizza deliveryman, how would you benefit from scissors?”

This evaluates creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Think creatively about practical uses for scissors in the context of pizza delivery, such as cutting pizza boxes or coupons.

11. Microsoft: “How would you test an elevator?”

This question evaluates your analytical and problem-solving skills. Discuss different testing methods, including safety, functionality, and user experience. Think about various scenarios and edge cases.

12. Dell: “Describe the internet to someone who just woke up from a 30-year coma.”

This question sounds daunting, but it basically tests your communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts.

The key here is to use simple, everyday language. Draw comparisons to concepts that existed 30 years ago to create understanding.

13. Zappos: “If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?”

Select an animal that reflects your personality and strengths, as this assesses your cultural fit and creativity. Relate your choice to qualities relevant to the job.

14. Bank of America: “What’s the angle between the hour and minute hand at 3:15?”

The question merely tests your logical and mathematical reasoning. Break down the problem into steps, considering the positions of the clock hands. Calculate the angle with precision.

15. Google: “How many cows are in Canada?”

Don’t panic with this question. It just assesses your estimation skills and logical reasoning. Use logical steps to estimate, such as considering the number of farms and average herd sizes. Show your reasoning process clearly.

Tips for Answering Unconventional Interview Questions

James offers tips when you encounter unconventional, if not bizarre, questions in a job interview.

  • Stay calm: Don’t panic when faced with an unusual question. It’s often more about your thought process than the exact answer.
  • Think aloud: Verbalize your thought process to show how you approach problems.
  • Be creative: Use your imagination and don’t be afraid to think outside the box.
  • Relate to the job: Wherever possible, connect your answer to qualities and skills relevant to the position you’re applying for.
  • Be honest: Give genuine answers that reflect your true personality and values.

James explains,

“These unconventional Interview questions actually help the interviewers understand how the candidates think on their feet and look at unexpected challenges. It’s really less about getting the ‘right’ answer and more about revealing the candidate’s analytical and creative process.”
