NIC Bank Group has launched NIC KONNECT in Kenya. The banking service incorporates social media platforms like Twitter and WhatsApp to enable their clients access various banking services.
The banking service enables customers of the bank to engage in banking transaction through various social media platforms like Twitter, Whatsapp, Facebook and telegram. NIC KONNECT is secure and provides a PIN for the customers to access the various banking services.
Customers of NIC KONNECT can easily access the following banking services;
- Mini statements
- Transfer of funds
- Payments of utility bills
- Balance inquiry
- Purchasing airtime
The service is set to advance, as the bank has its eye set on offering mobile money, merchant payments, card ordering, and cheque books in the near future.
The Group Managing Director, John Gachora said that it is an innovation that is set to make it easier for every customer to get banking services with the use of their mobile phones.
He also added on that, this offers another layer of convenience for consumers of banking services in Kenya through the multiple channels of social media.
This stems from an extensive research of the banking industry, which discovered the extensive use of social media, especially among youths in Kenya.
The product comes to the market as a result of a partnership between NIC Bank Group and Craft Silicon. The CEO of Craft Silicon stated that the company was delighted to work with NIC bank to deliver the innovative banking solution.
