Chinese electronics company, ZTE has released a new mid-range smartphone which offers premium features for taking selfies and making video calls.
ZTE’s Blade S7 had popped up quite a few times in the past and has now been officially made available by its manufacturer for around $280 (56,000 Naira).
The Blade S7 is part of ZTE’s Blade lineup and is the successor to the Blade S6 which was released earlier in the year.
The device also looks quite different from other ZTE devices and many say it bears a semblance with Apple’s iPhones.
”We are delighted to confirm the availability of the ZTE Blade S7, a device packed with a range of fun and innovative features,”
Jacky Zhang, CEO of Asia Pacific, ZTE Mobile Devices said.
“ZTE is constantly listening to its customers and we wanted to deliver a device that takes the selfie experience to a new level,”
he added.
ZTE Blade S7 is 7.5 mm thick and 64 mm wide. It weighs only 131 grams and has a 2.5D curved display with a Gorilla Glass panel on top for protection.
The smartphone features a 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution and 441ppi pixel density.
It is powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU for graphics and 3 GB of RAM.
ZTE Blade S7 comes with 32 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD slot.
The Blade S7 also sports two 13 MP cameras – a feature which is considered to be one of its strongpoints. The rear camera comes with autofocus and LED flash. The front-facing camera also has autofocus and an LED flash light. As a result images captured are accurate, blur-free and of premium quality.
The smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor that is embedded on the physical home button. The Blade S7 also supports dual-SIM capability. It comes with 4G LTE, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Blade S7 arrives with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box and ZTE says it will release the phone’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update later on according to reports.
The phone has a 2,500 mAh non-removable battery to power it and is available in four colors – Lemon Green, Space Grey, Rose Gold and Diamond White. It will first be available for purchase in Thailand, followed by other regions in Asia.
