Smartphone producers, ZTE, have finally launched the much anticipated Axon Max in China.

ZTE had in October at the unveiling of Axon Mini and the Axon Watch announced that it would soon launch the smartphone and that it would boast of mouth-watering features.

The Chinese tech firm has made the premium smartphone available via an e-commerce site for CNY 2,799 (about 86,000 Naira).

The ZTE Axon Max has the same Boeing 787 aircraft-grade aluminium-titanium alloy build like other ZTE Axon handsets but it is slimmer, measuring 7.5mm. A fingerprint sensor is also placed at the rear panel below the rear camera of the ZTE Axon Max.

The smartphone comes in a 6-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution Amoled display with a pixel density of 367 ppi. It supports dual-SIM (Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM) and comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with the MiFavor 3.5 UI on top.

The handset has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor powering it. This is further coupled with Adreno 405 and 3GB RAM, which surprisingly is 1GB less than the original Axon and Axon Lux. These power features will guarantee a smooth running of video games on the phone and will also ensure that multitasking is seamless.

The ZTE Axon Max sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and an f/1.9 aperture. It also has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture which one can use to take selfies and make video calls.

The new smartphone houses 32GB of inbuilt storage, out of which only 20GB is accessible by users according to the company. The inbuilt storage can however be expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB) with hybrid dual-SIM configuration where the second SIM card slot works as a microSD slot.

Connectivity options on the ZTE Axon Max include 4G TDD-LTE Band 40 and FDD-LTE Band 3 alongside as Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type-C, and USB OTG connectivity.

A 4140mAh battery comes with the phone and it also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 tech. This will charge the smartphone from 0 to 60 percent in 30 minutes, ZTE says. It also includes AK4961 24-bit ADC and is available in a Gold colour variant.
