Starting August 16, the Chinese market will receive Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 2 and the Redmi note 2 Prime.
The devices were launched today (13/Aug/2015) in Beijing.
Considering how both the variants are over-speced, the devices are a tempting offers at a mere $125 price tag.
Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime
Talking about the Redmi Note 2 first, it will be a 5.5-inch Android device, sporting 1920 x 1080 pixels full HD display.
Under the hood, it will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 octa core processor clocked at 2 GHz.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will come with 2 Gigs of Ram and 16 GB of internal Storage. You will also get the option to add microSD card for additional storage.
The device will sport a 13-MP rear camera and a 5-MP front shooter for your selfies and video calls.
Battery backup should be decent as it is packed with a 3070mAh ‘removable’ battery.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 like its predecessor will be 4G capable and come in dual-sim options. There is also an IR blaster to help you control your home entertainment systems.
The Redmi Note 2 will cost you a modest $125 as mentioned above. To had the Prime suffix just include another $30 and get the Redmi Note 2 Prime for $155.
All specs of the Note 2 Prime are identical with the Note 2 except it will come with a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor and 32GB of internal storage.
Currently, the devices will ship with Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 but later will be upgraded to MIUI 7.
Considering the price-point, there isn’t any argument that the Redmi Note 2 range is more capable than some of the more expensive devices in the market.
Apple and Samsung (currently the most dominating names in Smartphone industry) has quite a competitor in the field.
