Xiaomi made the commitment to update some of its older units to the new MIUI 12.5 sometimes last month. As of the time of this writing, that promise is being kept across some older units on the market.
The update has started rolling out to users of the Mi Mix 3 which launched as an upper midrange device back then. Xiaomi has also extended the same courtesy to users of its budget level Redmi 10X unit, helping to boost the brand image further as being in support of its older devices too.
For now, the stable beta update is being rolled out in batches to users of these devices in China only. That way, the developers can keep an eye on the progress and fix issues that might arise before everyone else gets it. Barring any issues, though, every user on one of these units should have the notification pop up.
Users in international markets should know that the Redmi 10X is the same as the Redmi 9. Thus, they are also entitled to receiving this update in the coming days, after the stable beta has been certified long term safe in the current region.
