Both the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A were supposed to start getting the stable update for MIUI 11 this November, and it seems the company is coming before scheduling with that update. As of the time of this erring, both devices have already started getting the notification to upgrade to the new stable skin, and it will soon be so for everyone using these units.
Weighing in at 544MB, the update does not bring Android 10 on board yet. However, the Android 9 Pie now has additional features like a system-wide dark mode, improved alarm ringtones and more natural sounds for notifications.
At the same time, there’s a new quick replies feature on board, as well as the security fix for October.
That seems to be all on the changelog – but we believe this is just a stepping stone to the main update which will feature Android 10
