A few days back, Xiaomi teased a new mid-range device under the infamous Redmi lineup. The upcoming device has been an object of confusion among tech enthusiast.
Today, the firm decided to let the cat out of the bag with the launch of the teased Redmi smartphone.
The phone debuted as the Redmi Note 8 2021. It arrived as an upgrade of the original Redmi Note 8 smartphone that launched in 2019.
On the front, the all-new Redmi Note 8 2021 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD panel. The display features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and it offers the user a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.
Under the hood, the MediaTek-powered Helio G85 chipset fuels the Redmi Note 8 2021 smartphone. The processor also features a Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 offers the user 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM with a native storage space of 64GB / 128GB. And it allows for additional storage via MicroSD card.
Talking lenses, the Redmi Note 8 2021 comes with a 13-megapixel camera that allows the user to make video calls and take selfie pictures.
On the other hand, the rear panel sports a quad-camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth shooter.
The handset features connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 9 (2.4GHz + 5GHz), USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS.
The smartphone also features an IR sensor, fingerprint scanner, and a P2i splash-resistant coating.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 would ship with the MIUI 12.5 custom UI based on Android 11 OS. It draws power from a 4,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging from a 22.5W charger.
The smartphone is available in three colours – Space Black, Moonlight White, and Neptune Blue.
Presently, the firm is yet to reveal the pricing information of the Redmi Note 8 2021. However, the phone is listed on Mi.com global and should be available for purchase soon.
