We have seen the device leak for days and specs fly around for months. Today, we are happy to announce to you that Xiaomi has now brought us the Mi Mix 2S. The device comes with everything powerful that we have hoped for and we cannot wait to tear it all down for you.
Similar to the Mi Mix 2 in design, this new smartphone comes with a 5.99-inch screen which incorporates the latest bezel-less and 18:9 screen ratio. It is no surprise that the screen was developed with a Full HD+ technology which is then completed with a 2.5D curved glass screen. On top of that screen is a 5MP camera that will handle your selfie needs.
The first big difference between the MI Mix 2S and Mi Mix 2 is on the back where there are two 12MP sensors with OIS technology. Another major change is the addition of a Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is currently the best SoC in the market.
In addition to that, the device will run on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo which has been adapted as MIUI 9.5. If you are looking or Google Assistant on this unit, you won’t find it. What you would get instead is the in-house XiaoAI. For now, we think that will only be applicable in China.
Unfortunately, we did not get either a 3.55mm jack for audio or an IP rating against dust and water. What we did get though is a 3400mAh battery, support for QuickCharge 3.0, support for dual SIM and USB 2.0.
Completing the innards are user-based configurations of 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM. You will have to make a good decision on which one to choose as there is no microSD card slot on board. As soon as we get other markets it will launch in asides China as well as the pricing information, we will let you know.
