Two days ago, Vivo took the covers off the world first Snapdragon 480 powered smartphone. The device arrived in China as the Vivo Y31s.
Meanwhile, about the same time, the Chinese smartphone maker also launched another smartphone called the Vivo Y51A.
The smartphone debuted as a lower version of the Vivo Y51 that launched in India last year.
Regarding design, the all-new Vivo Y51A is identical to the already announced Vivo Y51. The significant difference between both devices lies under the hood.
The Vivo Y51 debuted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, and the latest Y51A features the Snapdragon 662 processor.
Apart from the chipset, the all-new Vivo Y51A comes with the same specifications and features as the Vivo Y51.
Therefore, the handset launched in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It comes with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 2408 x 1080 pixels.
The screen has a dewdrop notch design that houses the 16-megapixel front-facing snapper.
On the rear panel, the Vivo Y51A features a triple camera system that comprises a 48-megapixel primary shooter, an ultrawide 8-megapixel lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.
For connectivity, the handset has support for 4G, dual-SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB-C port, GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo), and a 3.5mm audio port.
Other features of the Vivo Y15A include a side-facing fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
The Vivo Y51A comes pre-loaded with the FunTouch OS 11 based on Android 11 Operating System. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
In India, the Vivo Y51A carries a price tag of Rs 17,990 (~$245). Interestingly, it retails for the same price as the Vivo Y51 that arrived last December.
However, customers can get the phone from Paytm, Amazon, Flipkart, TataCliq, and other offline stores across India.
