HMD knew that it had to step up the game in the flagship scene if they were to be taken seriously, and that is just what they did with the launch of their Nokia 8.3 5G earlier. This phone came in the flagship range, and it has all it takes to be classified a flagship too.
The phone is blessed with a massive display, amazing camera tech and some of the innards that are as juicy as they can get.
So, it starts with a 6.81-inch screen which is made from an HDR panel and has a 24MP camera on top of it. We would have been pissed if this came in a notch, but we love the fact that it is a punch hole in the screen.
On the back of the device is a quad camera setup, and Nokia went all out here, calling in the services of ZEISS, they have fitted the phone with a 64MP main sensor which comes with 12MP ultrawide snapper and a depth sensor to match. Oh, we almost forgot the macro camera that comes with the sensors too.
Inside the device, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which means that the unit has 5G support on board. We would have preferred the new Qualcomm SSD 865 chipset instead, but this is what we get and we like it too.
Following that, the unit boats Android 10 under the Android One Program. This means that even if it were not a flagship unit, it would get Android updates for the next 2 years.
Speaking more on the innards, buyers will have to choose between a 6GB/ 8GB RAM option then have to choose if they want only 64GB or as much as 128GB instead. Finally, the device will be run on a 4500mAh battery and charge at 18W.
Is that something you will be willing to cop when it goes live on the shelves?
