
In February, Xiaomi released the entry-level Redmi 8A Dual smartphone in India. The Redmi 8A Dual is an upgraded variant of the Redmi 8A that debuted September last year.
Last week, Xiaomi introduced the 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variants of the Redmi 8A Dual. The first sale of this smartphone will be made in India today at noon, as earlier promised by the company.
Comparing the Redmi 8A Dual smartphone to the model released last year. It’s quite noticeable that last year’s model debuted with a dual-camera system on its rear panel and a refresh rear build. The smartphone came in two versions, including the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage model and the 3GB RAM + 64GB storage model.
The Redmi 8A Dual will arrive with a 6.22-inch IPS LCD panel with a tear-drop notch at the top of the screen. The display offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5.
The smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 439 chipset and comes pre-loaded with MIUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
Talking about lenses, the Redmi 8A Dual will come with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. On the back panel, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera setup.
The smartphone will come equipped with a massive 5,000mAh battery and has support for 18W fast charging.
The 2GB RAM + 32GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage models of this smartphones are priced at Rs. 6,499 (~$86) and Rs. 6,999 (~$92) respectively.
The new 64GB variant of the Redmi 8A Dual carries a price tag of Rs. 8,999 (~$118). The phone can be purchased through Amazon India, Mi.com, and retails stores starting from 12 PM today in India.
