Mobile smartphone tech firm, Tecno mobile, has quietly launched the Tecno W4, its first device sporting the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system in Nigeria.
The device is also the first member in a new W-series of Tecno phones. It has been listed on Konga.com at a price of 27,000 Naira and is expected to hit other online and physical stores as well.
The major selling point of the device is its software specs. The device runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS, which is new for Tecno.
With the device, Tecno fans can enjoy the new OS without having to wait for an update, which is taking its sweet time in coming.
The Tecno W4 also comes with the Gesture Switch feature, which allows users to launch apps with a written gesture on the home page.
Apart from this, the Tecno W4 has a 5.0 inch HD (1280 x 720 resolution) IPS touchscreen display. According to Tecno, the device also has a luxury metallic frame design and is super slim, measuring 143.5x 71.3x 8. 5mm.
As far as engine specs are concerned, the smartphone has a Quad-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz.
In addition to this is 1GB of RAM to offer moderate multitasking services. There’s 16GB of memory storage on the phone which should be expandable via a micro SD slot.
In the camera department, the Tecno W4 has an 8.0 MP wide angle rear camera with LED flash. This is supported by a 2 MP selfie camera with several beautification effects.
Just like the Tecno L8, the W4 has G-sensor, light sensor and proximity sensor with Wi Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and 4G as connectivity options.
The 4G connectivity option means its users can enjoy unlimited data offered by Nigeria’s latest telecoms firm Ntel.
The Tecno W4 is powered by a 2500mAh battery which Tecno says would last 48 hours of usage on a single charge. It will be available in silver, black and gold color options.
