Previous reports have hinted that one of the first smartphones that will debut in 2021 under the Motorola brand name is the Moto G Play 2021.

According to rumours, the handset could arrive as the successor of the earlier announced Moto G9 Play.

Now, the Moto G Play 2021 has surfaced on the Google Play Console. And a few of its specifications have been revealed.

Based on the information shared, the Moto G Play 2021 has a dimension of 165.3 x 75.4 x 9.5mm. The Google Play listing of the handset codenames the device as ‘’Guama.’’

The leak further states that its display will support a 720 x 1600 pixels HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 280ppi.

Under the hood, the upcoming Motorola G Play 2021 will feature the SM4250 processor, which happens to be the Snapdragon 460 chipset. It may arrive a medium RAM size of 4GB.

Meanwhile, the listing carries the front-side image of the phone, and it revealed some other details such as the presence of a waterdrop notch on the screen and a thick bottom bezel.

For controls, the Moto G Play 2021 carries both the power button and volume rockers on its right edge. However, the details are not yet confirmed as it is unclear whether the image is real or just a placeholder.

Meanwhile, a few weeks back, the Moto G Play 2021 surfaced at Geekbench. It seems at the time, the processor its to feature was identified wrongly as the Snapdragon 662. However, the listing did mention that the handset would arrive with 3GB of RAM and Android 10 OS.

Further, a reliable tipster did the honours of sharing the CAD renders of the Moto G Play earlier in November.

The CAD renders of the phone mentioned that it would house a 6.5-inch screen with a punch-hole design. It also stated that the rear panel of the phone would sport a square-shaped camera module that would shelter three lenses and an LED flash.

The rear shell would feature a fingerprint scanner as well for unlocking the phone.

Interestingly, the Moto G Play 2021 already bagged certification from TUV Rheinland, and the document revealed that the phone would house a 4,850mAh battery.

You will want to take this information with a pinch of salt as the claims from different sources contradicts in some aspect.
