Sony did not waste any time after the launch of their Xperia 5 before they pushed yet another midrange unit into the market. This is what we see in the way of the current Xperia 8 which has just made a select market.
So, what makes this one special?
We start with the 6-inch display designed on a 21:9 aspect ratio, following that up with Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back. Now that we know that the rear gets premium treatment too, we are also excited to announce the dual 12MP main shooter supported by an 8MP ultrawide sensor.
The front of the device sports a lone 8MP snapper for selfie lovers. The fingerprint sensor on the Xperia 8 has been moved to the side of the device, functioning as part of the power button setup.
Diving under the hood, users can only have the unit with 4GB of RAM, and that brings them 64GB of storage too. A Qualcomm SD 630 chipset runs the party, but we would have loved to get more than the 2760mAh battery on board.
Expected to be offered in colour options of White, Black, Orange and Blue, this device will be exclusive to the Japanese market for now.
