When Samsung launched its latest line of devices with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, they promised that this would be some next-level form of tech which beats the previous forms of fingerprint unlock. However, it has recently come to light that using some third-party screen protectors could allow other people unlock the device with unregistered fingerprints.
This means all of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy S10 5G, Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G are all plagued by this issue.
Samsung has acknowledged the problem and they promised to fix it too and it seems that is what they are doing with a recent update going to the Note 10+ 5G. Coming in at just 18MB, the changelog just mentions that this update will be aimed at improving the accuracy of the fingerprint reader.
Those are not exactly clear terms, but we believe that is what the South Korean OEM is trying to do. If so, it is just a matter of time before the same update starts rolling out to other units with the same problems.
