When Redmi first launched the K40 line of device, they forgot to add a gaming phone. So, they came back to the market with a K40 Gaming Edition, and all was good again. Going by a latest post that the company has on Weibo, it seems that they are going to launch yet another gaming phone in this line-up.
This time around, the chipset gets the change.
The current gaming phone in the series uses the Dimensity 1200 chipset from MediaTek. Redmi is now shopping chips from Qualcomm where it could equip the new device with an even more capable SD 870 chipset instead. Besides that, it seems all the other specs will be close to what we have on the base model of the phone.
If they go this way, we retain the 120Hz screen refresh rate with a massive 5065mAh battery which already boasts an impressive 67W fast charging capacity. We hope to see some sprucing up in some corners to justify the new price tag that would be slapped on this guy. For what it’s worth, we could also get some new colors to match.
