The Indian arm of Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 9. The smartphone is the same as the Redmi 10X 4G in the Chinese market. The Redmi Note 9 is the third member of the Redmi Note 9 series.
The Redmi Note 9 comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel. The punch-hole display has a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and supports full HD+ resolution. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
On the inside, the smartphone is driven by Helio G85 SoC alongside an LPDDR4x RAM. The phone offers the user with eMMC 5.1 storage and has a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
The Redmi Note 9 will run on the company’s MIUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
As for the cameras, the smartphone debuts with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.
On the other hand, the phone’s backside houses a quad-camera setup. It consists of a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel super-wide shooter with 118° field-of-view, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth assist sensor.
Out of the box, the Redmi Note 9 will feature a 5,020mAh battery. The phone carries support for 9W reverse charging technology and comes with a 22.5W fast charger.
Talking about security, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is present on the device. It also has support for face unlock.
On the connectivity aspect, the Redmi Note 9 comes with 4G VoLTE, dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB-C port, IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Redmi Note 9 will be available in two RAM and storage variants. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant will cost Rs. 11,999 (~$160) while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants will retail for Rs. 14,999 (~$200).
By 12 PM IST on July 24, the Redmi Note 9 will go on its first sale through Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home, and partnered offline stores.
The device will be available in Pebble Grey, Aqua Green, and Arctic White colour options.
