Meizu is ready to debut its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Meizu 17 series in China tomorrow, May 8, 2020. Preceding the launch of the phone, snippets of some of the key features the phone will posses have been revealed by the Chinese company through social media posts.
Meizu has confirmed that it will be rolling out three smartphones in this order-Meizu 17, Meizu 17 Pro, Meizu 17T. The Meizu 17 series smartphones are up for pre-order in the Chinese market already. Orders can be made through the company’s online store, JD.com, Suning, and Tmall.
The company is also set to launch a new custom user interface, Android 10-based Flyme 8.1, and a few accessories, including Super mCharge Power Bank and a GaN (Gallium Nitride) charger alongside the Meizu 17 series at the launch event.
The new Meizu 17 series will rock Full HD+ AMOLED display along with a 90Hz refresh rate. For the selfie camera, a cut out punch hole is present on the screen. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset will power the device with 5G support.
The phone is expected to feature a quad-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor as the primary sensor.
Meizu has already confirmed that the next-generation smartphone will come packed with a 4500mAh battery and 30W rated wired charger.
On a third-party eCommerce platform, the pricing details of the upcoming Meizu 17 devices have been revealed. The device will start at 3,999 yuan (~$563) for the base model, while the Pro model will start at 4,999 yuan (~$704).
