Last September, the Indian arm of POCO announced the POCO M2 smartphone. A couple of weeks after, the smartphone brand took the covers off the POCO M3 in other markets except India.
Today, POCO hosted an online launch event in India to announce the POCO M3 smartphone. The mid-ranger has some attractive features like a tall display, massive battery size, a 48-megapixel rear camera system.
The POCO M3 arrived in India with a 60Hz IPS LCD panel. The 6.53-inch display has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
The screen has a Gorilla Glass 3 layer over it.
It debuts with an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper that allows the user to take selfies and make video calls.
On the rear, the POCO M3 packs an iconic rectangular-shaped camera module. The large-sized housing comprises a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens.
The phone’s camera supports portrait mode, time-lapse, AI beautify, slow-mo video recording at 120fps, panorama, AI scene detection, and 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 662 chipset alongside an LPDDR4x RAM drives the POCO M3 smartphone. It offers the user UFS 2.1 / 2.2 storage option.
The handset ships with the MIUI 12 based on Android 10 OS. And it draws power from a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
The POCO M3 has a microSD slot for storage expansion, and it carries support for reverse charging.
The POCO M3 offers the user dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB-C, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The handset arrived in India in two variants. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model sells cost Rs 10,999 (~$150) and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant has a price tag of Rs 11,999 (~$164)
Starting February 9, customers can begin to pick up the POCO M3 in colour choices like cool blue, power black, and POCO yellow.
