In March, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. Three months after the Note 9 launched, the company unveiled a smartphone just like the Redmi Note 9 – Poco M2 Pro. The Poco M2 Pro has fast charging capabilities and a Dual-tone design making these the only significant differences between the two devices.
The Poco M2 Pro arrived in the same market as the Redmi Note 9. The Poco M2 Pro was expected to launch as a revamped model of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Global edition for India. The new Poco device adopts the 33W rapid charging technology as well as the two-tone design from the global edition of the Redmi Note 9.
However, the Poco M2 Pro maintains the 48MP quad-camera system from the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
As we expected, the Poco M2 Pro has the same specs as the Indian variant of the Note 9 Pro. The device comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel. The display produces a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
On the inside, the same Snapdragon 720G in the Redmi Note 9 drives the Poco M2 Pro. It sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. A quad-camera system that comprises a 48-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor sits on the back of the phone.
The M2 Pro is P2i water and dust-resistant and comes equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
The Poco M2 Pro will arrive in three models; 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The three models will carry a price tag of Rs. 13,999 (~$187), Rs. 14,999 (~$200), and Rs. 16,999 (~$227) respectively.
The smartphone will be available in Blue, Green, and Two-Tone Black colour editions.
The Poco M2 Pro will go on its first sale on July 14 by 12 PM on Flipkart.
