Oppo should have made more noise around the launch of the new units that they brought to the market today, but they might want to keep things quiet.
Right now, we have seen both the Oppo A74 and Oppo A74 5G with the official wraps off of them. While both units launched at the same time, they are not all present in the markets of launch. Likewise, we expect that they will be launched in other markets soon to allow for a more global reach of the units.
That said, the markets that have gotten the Oppo A74 are the Philippines and Cambodia. Over in Thailand, we have the 5G option of the phone.
Looking under the hood, the non-5G device comes with an SD 662 chipset paired with a decent 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage option. It seems that there will be only one memory configuration, so it’s better to get used to this one.
Elsewhere on the same device, there is a 6.43-inch screen powered by AMOLED technology and carrying up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. The device also carries Android 11 out of the box, based on the ColorOS 11.1 as the 5G variant.
Speaking of, the 5G unit uses an SD 480 chipset instead and deploys the same 6GB/ 128GB memory configurations as seen on the non-5G option. Although it has a 189Hz touch sampling rate too, the screen runs at 90Hz – which is better than the 60Hz on the other sibling.
Finally, we expect the 4G model to sell at an equivalent of $255 while the other option sells for $285 instead.
