In April, the rumour mill speculated that the OPPO Reno3 A mid-range smartphone will be launched in India soon. OPPO India is yet to announce the handset though.
However, the Japanese segment of the firm discreetly announced a new phone called OPPO Reno3 A. The smartphone launched into the Japanese market at a starting price of 39,800 Yuan (~$372).
The OPPO Reno3 A will arrive with a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel. The display features a tear-drop notch for the selfie camera and offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. OPPO claims that the smartphone offers 89.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio and has a 20:9 aspect ratio.
The display which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 is also said to support DC dimming.
On the front side, it has a 16-megapixel f/2.0 aperture selfie snapper in the notch. On the back panel, a quad-camera system assisted by a bright LED flash and EIS support is present. The camera system includes a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119° field-of-view, and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras-One is a microsensor while the other is a depth lens assist.
The OPPO Reno3 A will come pre-loaded with the ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 OS.
Just like a few smartphones out there, the Reno3 A features an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The phone comes equipped with a moderate 4,025mAh battery, and it has support for fast charging.
The Snapdragon 665 chipset will drive the OPPO Reno3 A. The smartphone features a dual SIM slot, Bluetooth 5.0, a dedicated MicroSD slot, 4G VoLTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Reno3 A is IP68 rated dustproof and water-resistant, and it will be available for purchase as from June 25 in Black and Gradient White colour options.
