The Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo is determined to launch its camera-focused smartphone called Oppo R9 later this month. The company plans to unveil high-end Oppo R9 on March 17.
The handset is being heralded as a potential successor to the last year’s Oppo R7. The latest teasers by Oppo affirm the existence of the handset and also disclose its USP and a release date.
Oppo has been teasing this smartphone via its Weibo account for quite a while. One of the teasers proclaimed that the focal point of Oppo R9 would be its high-end camera.
“This time, it is worth and other ‘9’ point. #OPPO New camera phone #R9.”
However, no other specs of the snapper or the phone were disclosed.
Another teaser announced the release date of the upcoming Oppo R9. As per the advertisement, an event will be held on 17th of March, in which the company will launch the latest smartphone that includes ‘9’ in its name.
Initial reports indicate that Oppo R9 will come with a QHD 6-inch display with 1440×2560p screen resolution. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC by Qualcomm.
The device will come with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage on board that will be extendable via microSD card.
Oppo R9 is expected to feature a 21MP rear camera along with a 13MP front snapper to click selfies. The superior quality lens will ensure a great camera experience with a crystal clear image.
The other rumored specs include 3700mAh battery backup along with Oppo’s recently launched VOOC fast charging technology. Oppo R9 will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
As camera is being presumed as the focal point of the device, the Oppo R9 might also include the latest SmartSensor stabilization that was unveiled recently by Oppo at the MWC event this year.
