Oppo is just one week away from launching its latest flagship R9 smartphone. The Oppo R9 will be made official on March 17.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has been running an active teaser campaign for the new launch since the past week.
The latest teasers of the campaign were released by the company today. The teasers reveal that Oppo R9 will flaunt a front-facing fingerprint sensor. However, the highlight of this fingerprint sensor is its efficiency; a mere 0.2 seconds to unlock.
The new feature in this latest Oppo handset is the incorporation of the mobile payment. Previously, the reports indicated that quite a few China-based smartphone manufacturers were to release their own payments service.
Though Oppo was not named as the Chinese manufacturer to go for mobile payments, these reports indicate that it might be the first company to launch the service.
Talking about the specs of the Oppo R9, the device, and its upgraded version Oppo R9 Plus, have already received the clearance from TENAA. The detailed listing on TENNA described a 5.5-inches 1080p AMOLED touchscreen.
The innards of the devices have been specified to encompass a 1.95 GHz octa-core processor. Oppo R9 will come with 4GB of RAM and will pack in 32GB of expandable storage.
The handset will be powered by 2850 mAh battery. The rear, as well as the front lenses, will be 16 MP cameras that will deliver a high-quality image experience.
The overall design of Oppo R9 seems to be inspired by Apple iPhone 6. Previously HTC One A9 had been said to resemble iPhone 6 a bit too much.
It seems as if Oppo has taken it one step further with R9. Oppo R9 will be driven by Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The company has yet to announce the price of the handset. However, in accordance with the previously launched Oppo smartphones, R9 is expected to hang a tag of RMB 2498 (~ $385).
