
When 5G network officially launched, the majority of the smartphone manufactures were quick to make their high-end and flagship smartphones 5G-ready – probably to boost sales.
Now, for a couple of months, we have noticed how these smartphone makers are making mid-range and entry-level smartphone 5G-enabled, seems that’s the new marketing strategy.
In that vein, OPPO has decided to bring 5G to its fans in the build of a budget smartphone. The Chinese brand has announced the OPPO A53 5G budget-friendly device.
Based on the price tag, the new A-series device would rank as one of the cheapest 5G-ready smartphones around.
Without further ado, let’s dive into the specs and features of the new OPPO A53 5G.
The OPPO A53 5G comes with a full display with a top-left positioned punch-hole design. The Liquid Crystal Display measures 6.5-inches and produces a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.
Also, the display supports a 1500:1 contrast ratio, 480nits of brightness, and a 90Hz screen refresh rate.
On the backside, the OPPO A53 5G packs a square-shaped camera module at the top-left corner. It comprises of three AI lenses that include a 16-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, a 2-megapixel portrait camera, and an LED flash.
Inside, the MediaTek Dimensity 720 chip that has a peak frequency of 2.0GHz fuels the handset. The chipset supports SA/NSA dual-mode 5G network, and it adopts the TSMC 7nm process.
For battery, a modest 4,040mAh battery serves as backup for the OPPO A53 5G. Unfortunately, the handset lacks support for fast charging.
Other notable features of the OPPO A53 5G include a side-facing fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The handset will arrive in 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage models. Already, both variants are available for reservation and shipping will begin on December 21.
The 4GB model of the phone sells for 1,299 Yuan (~$198). Customers can pick up the phone in the following colour options: lake green, purple, and black.
