Today, OPPO unveiled the latest OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G smartphone in the Indian market. The upper-mid-range handset arrived the country as the first to feature the Dimensity 1000+ chipset.
The latest release has other attractive features such as a beautiful curved display, 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging, and a unique Reno Glow matte finish.
On the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G, the firm focused on delivering a lightweight smartphone with a sleek design.
The handset has a super thin 7.6mm frame thickness, and it weighs only 173 grams. Hence, it is one of the lightest 5G-ready smartphones in the market now.
The Reno5 Pro 5G comes with a 6.5-inch 3D curved S-AMOLED display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The screen has certification from Netflix HD and Amazon Prime, and it is rated for HDR10+ certification.
A unique feature on the Reno5 Pro 5G is the Reno Glow design on the rear. The design gives the rear side a sparkly texture. However, the back panel has a matte finish to avoid picking fingerprints.
Under the hood, the Indian variant of the Reno5 Pro 5G comes with the same Dimensity 1000+ processor in the Chinese variant. The chipset has a built-in 5G modem, and it features four Cortex A77 cores for flagship performance.
According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 1000+ is the world’s lowest power-consuming chip. Therefore, the handset promises excellent battery life.
The Reno5 Pro 5G has a base variant with 8GB of RAM and a native storage of 128GB.
For lenses, the Reno5 Pro 5G features a quad rear camera system, which includes a 64-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth lens.
The OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G would run on the ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11. And it draws power from a 4,350mAh battery that supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging.
According to OPPO, the fast charging tech promises a 100% charge in 30 minutes.
In India, the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G carries a starting price of Rs 35,990 (~$491) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model.
Customers can purchase the handset in colour editions like astral blue and starry black.
