Oppo’s new F series of smartphone, Oppo F1, which was showcased at CES 2016, is now available for pre-orders via an online retailer in Vietnam.
The camera-focused smartphone is priced at VND 6,490,000 (about 60,000 Naira) and will start shipping from January 21. It is reported that the first 1,500 people to pre-order the Oppo F1 will receive an iLike Bluetooth headset.
The smartphone will also launch in India by the end of January, Oppo said.
The Oppo F1 comes in a 5-inch HD screen- with IPS and LCD display, and a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The screen has a 294 pixel density and is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 coating.
The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM) supporting smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out-of-the-box with Color OS 2.1. It sports an aluminium body and is slim, being 7.25mm thick.
The Oppo F1 smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, an Adreno 405 GPU, and a 3 GB RAM. It also comes with a 16 GB internal memory which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 128 GB.
With these engine specs, the Oppo F1 is a direct competitor with the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note. It is expected to offer prospective users a great smartphone experience void of lagging and shortage of memory. Multi-taskers will also derive joy in the smartphone with its 3 GB RAM.
At the CES announcement, Oppo Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business, Sky Li, said the new F-Series smartphones will keep photography as its central focus, and this is evident in the phone’s camera specs.
The Oppo F1 bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and single LED flash. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with wider f/2.0 aperture (1/4″ sensor) along with software features such as Beautify 3.0, 8 live colour filters, and more. The display also doubles as the flash in low-light environments.
It has several connectivity options including Bluetooth, WiFi, and supports LTE connectivity. There’s also a 2500 mAh battery on board.
