OnePlus became known for being the brand that only launched flagship devices, and only one per year. Then, the company moved to working on two flagships to be launched at different times of the year. Now, they are launching multiple flagships at different price and spec points at different points in the year.
In the past few months, the company has broken into the midrange market with its Nord line of units.
As of the time of this writing, we are still expecting the Nord 2 5G which promises to be one of the most affordable and best 5G devices of this year. While the company has been teasing the device ahead of launch, they have kept the lid tight on it.
Till now, when official sources confirm that the phone will pack a Dimensity 1200 chipset from MediaTek
When the phone launches, it would mark the first time when OnePlus went with another chip maker other than Qualcomm. It is said that they have worked closely with MediaTek to ensure the chipset is ready for the work that it is billed for.
If that is true, it also means that the company might have gone this route to cut the costs even better without sacrificing too much on quality. For now, we can only wait to see what they have planned for us.
