Yesterday, Motorola announced the Moto G9 smartphone in India. The device came to rival other popular brands like Samsung, Realme, and Redmi, in the pricing aspect. The Moto G9 succeeds the Moto G8 that was launched earlier this year.

The Moto G9 comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch design. It has a polycarbonate build and a dimension of 165.21 x 75.73 x 9.18mm.

The Max Vision display on the device has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and delivers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.

The smartphone is designed to be water-repellant, and it offers an 87% screen space.

In India, the Moto G9 has set a record as the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 662 chipset. Alongside the SoC, the phone arrives with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A MicroSD card slot is present on the device for storage expansion.

For the lenses, the on-screen notch on the Moto G9 provides shelter for an 8-megapixel f/2.2 aperture selfie snapper. The square-shaped module on the rear panel of the phones houses a 48-megapixel primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture and a pair of 2-megapixel shooters with f/2.2 apertures respectively.

The rear camera of the Moto G9 has many features such as shot optimization, high-resolution zoom, quad pixel technology, smart composition, Google lens integration, and auto smile capture.

The Moto G9 is pre-installed with the Motorola My UX based on Android 10 OS. The Lenovo-owned firm states that the handset delivers stock Android experience and is free from adware and bloatware.

The smartphone relies on a battery with a capacity of 5,000mAh. On a single charge, the device can last for up to 2 days, and it carries support for 20W Turbo Power rapid charging technology.

For security, the Moto G9 has face recognition capabilities and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The phone features some connectivity options, which includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, dual SIM support, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Moto G9 arrived in India with a price tag of Rs. 11.499 (~$153). It is available in Forest Green and Sapphire Blue.
