Over the years, Motorola has focused on the production and sales of low-end and mid-range smartphones. However, the company plans to get back into the production of premium smartphones, so Motorola has finally released the Motorola Edge Plus in India.
The Motorola Edge Plus is the first real flagship device the company released since the launch of the Moto Z2 Force back in February 2018.
The smartphone gets its name from its extremely curve build. The company claims that the display curves at 90-degrees and the curves are not just to beautify the phone. The curved edges have virtual buttons that can be used as trigger buttons.
The Motorola Edge Plus sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display, which supports a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and DCI-P3 color gamut. The fingerprint sensor is buried in the screen, and a punch-hole selfie camera is located at the top-left corner of the display.
The device will run on the latest Snapdragon 865 5G processor based on Android 10 with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The company is offering a single storage memory variant of the Edge Plus for now.
As for the camera, the phone features a triple camera setup consisting of the large Samsung HMX 108MP f/1.8 sensor as the main shooter with OIS, which is paired with a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle snapper, and an 8MP telephoto sensor capable of 3x optical zoom. The selfie camera is a 25MP shooter.
A 5,000mAh battery powers the device. The phone provides support for 18W of wired charging and 15W of wireless charging.
The Motorola Edge Plus has two color variants: Smoky Sangria and Thunder Grey. The phone starts at Rs. 74,999 (~$991) in India.
A special Rs. 7,500 (~$99) cashback will be offered to ICICI credit card users on EMI and non-EMI payments on Flipkart.
