Meizu has launched a refreshed, 2016 version of the m3 smartphone which it originally launched in year 2015.
The new Meizu m3 smartphone will come in two variants. There’s a 2GB RAM/ 16GB internal memory variant that has been priced at CNY 599 (around 19,000 naira) and a 32GB RAM/ 32GB internal memory variant which costs CNY 799 (about 25,000 naira).
The smartphone is toughly built, sporting a poly-carbonate body which also makes it to look slim and sleek. It measures 141.5×69.5×8.3 mm and weighs 132g. However it lacks a fingerprint sensor, but it’s still good value for its price.
The Meizu m3 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the custom Flyme 5 OS on top. It features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) 2.5D curved display with a pixel density of 296ppi.
Under the hood, the Meizu m3 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC (4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz, and 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1GHz), coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, as earlier said.
The device sports mid-range picture taking abilities- it bears a 13 megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) which focuses in 0.2 seconds. A 5 megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture is also on board.
The Meizu m3 has either 16GB or 32GB of internal memory storage space. It has a hybrid dual-SIM slot which can accommodate two SIM cards or a SIM card and a microSD card at once.
In addition to having Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass and 3G as connectivity options, the smartphone also supports 4G LTE connectivity.
Onboard sensors on the phone include accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light, and a magnetometer. Furthermore, the Meizu m3 is powered by a 2870mAh battery.
The Meizu m3 will be sold in Gold, Grey, White, Blue, and Pink colour options. Pre-orders are already on with shipping set to commence on the 29th of May, 2016. It hasn’t been announced when it will be available outside China.
