LG has announced the arrival of two X-series smartphones – the LG X Camera and LG X Screen, ahead of MWC 2016 in Barcelona.

The new X-Series of smartphones will be launched in key markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America starting next month. The prices of the smartphones will be announced at that time.

LG said both phones will cater to customers who do not want all the high-end features of premium smartphone but still desire a great camera as well as advanced display.

The LG X Cam comes in a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) In-cell display, has a side profile of 5.2mm and weighs 118 grams.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.14GHz octa-core processor which is is further coupled with 2GB of RAM. There’s also a 16GB internal memory for storing files and application.

The smartphone sports dual cameras on the rear and features 3D bending glass which gives it curved finish on the front. There’s a 13 megapixel and a 5 megapixel dual rear cameras and an 8 megapixel front camera is also on board.

The smartphone runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and also supports 4G LTE connectivity. It is backed by a 2520mAh battery and will be available in Titan Silver, White, Gold, and Pink Gold.

The LG X Screen on the other hand, has a primary 4.93-inch In-cell display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels.

It also packs an “Always On” second screen which has been seen on LG’s premium V10 smartphone. The company is set to launch its LG G5 flagship smartphone which also features an “Always On” display.

The LG X Screen’s “Always On” second screen sits right above the main display. It is a 1.76-inch screen with a resolution of 520×80 pixels.

It shows notifications for apps, calls without interrupting the current activity or just play music. It also allows users to check the time, date, battery status and other notifications without ever having to turn on the phone.

The LG X Screen is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor clubbed with a 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of inbuilt storage available for storage of media files and a 2300mAh battery is also on board.

The smartphone bears a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera for taking pictures.

Just like the LG X Cam, the LG X Screen also runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has 4G connectivity. It will be available in Black , White, and Pink Gold colours.

President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Juno Cho, said the company is determined to offer more phone choices to its customers.

“Everyone has a favourite smartphone feature. At LG, we think there’s room for devices that do one thing very well and that customers shouldn’t have to pay for features that they don’t want. At the end of the day, we’re committed to offering consumers more choices,” he said.
