The LG K7 is the first member of LG’s new K-Series smartphones.
The South Korean tech company said the K-Series is an upgrade to the L-Series and added that it’s bringing to the new smartphone a glossy pebble design, better photography capabilities, as well as the ‘premium UX’ features usually associated with higher-end devices.
The phone was launched just as the CES 2016 trade emerges around the corner.
LG, in a bid to increase options for potential buyers maybe, decided to make the phone in two major options- the phone arrives in 3G and 4G LTE supporting variants.
The 3G model packs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, while the 4G LTE version packs a 1.1GHz quad-core SoC.
Both variants runs Android 5.1 Lollipop Operating System out-of-the-box and feature a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution display.
However, while the 3G variant sports on-cell touch technology, the 4G LTE variant is listed to feature in-cell touch technology. The The LG K7 and K7 LTE, depending on the region, will sport either 8-megapixel or 5-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking high quality selfies.
In addition, the smartphones have a 2.5D Arc Glass design along with Gesture Shot, Tap and Shot, and Gesture Interval shot function for taking images.
They will also come with a 1.5GB or 1GB RAM, an 8GB or 16GB of inbuilt storage, and a 2125mAh battery- all depending on the region it’s being made available.
The 3G variant of LG K7 measures 143.6 x 72.5 x 9.05 mm and will be available in White, Black, and Gold colour variants. The 4G LTE version on the other hand measures 143.6 x 72.5 x 8.9 mm, and will be available in the Titan colour only.
Pricing and availability details of the K7 smartphone are yet to be announced.
