Recently, several reports hinted that Redmi – a prominent sub-brand of Xiaomi – is working on a new smartphone series: the Redmi K50 series. The reports further mentioned that the smartphone series would feature the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and Redmi K50 Pro+.
Interestingly, a Chinese tipster has shared the specifications of the Pro+ variant of the upcoming Redmi K50 lineup.
The tipster mentioned that the Redmi K50 Pro+ would launch with an AMOLED screen with a top-centered punch-hole. The screen has an under-display fingerprint scanner. And the handset would likely come with a 120Hz refresh rate like the Redmi K40 Pro+.
Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 898 processor oversees the affairs of the Redmi K50 Pro+. The publication mentions that the phone might house a 5,000mAh battery that supports 67W rapid charging.
For photography, the rear camera system on the Redmi K50 Pro+ sports a 108-megapixel primary sensor and a lens with periscopic zoom. It’s likely the rear camera system will comprise three sensors.
On the other hand, the Redmi K50 may come with the Snapdragon 888 SoC. And the Redmi K50 Pro, the Snapdragon 898 chip.
Now, the rumor mill speculates that the Redmi K50 series won’t launch until next year. Hence, there’s enough time for leaks to reveal more about the Redmi K50 lineup.
