In 2019, the POCO brand was somewhat inactive as we didn’t quite get any smartphones from the Xiaomi sub-brand.
However, the story changed in 2020. Despite the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Xiaomi sub-brand performed excellently in 2020.
Presently, a POCO smartphone is still in the works and yet to be released. Since last year, rumours about an upcoming OPPO F2 smartphone have been making rounds on the internet.
The smartphone brand hasn’t revealed anything regarding the phone so far. However, it seems that the arrival of the POCO F2 smartphone is close as the company recently teased the launch of the device in a tweet.
On Twitter, POCO reflected on its achievements in 2020. The brand sold over a million unit of POCO-branded devices. And it ranked no. 4 in the list of smartphone brands in India.
The brand aims for more success in 2021. According to recent reports, the smartphone manufacturer is looking into the production and launch of new products like wireless earphones and laptops.
There’s a high chance for the upcoming POCO F2 to arrive as the first smartphone from the brand in 2021. A group of people at an unofficial Xiaomi Telegram space have revealed some highlights of the POCO F2.
According to the leak, the POCO F2 smartphone has the model number K9A, and has the codename, Courbet.
The information mentions that it might feature an AMOLED panel that delivers a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The leak didn’t disclose the screen size, but it did reveal that the POCO F2 would depend on a 4,250mAh battery for backup.
Other features of the POCO F2 included support for NFC and reverse-charging tech.
The configurations of the rear camera remain a mystery. However, the information mentions that the phone would feature a quad rear camera system that would include wide, ultrawide, macro, and depth lenses.
The leaked information is unconfirmed. Therefore, it would be ok to take it with a pinch of salt.
