iQOO, a prominent sub-brand of Vivo, just announced a new budget smartphone. It may be the last phone the company will launch in the budget category for the year 2020.
The new device carries the name iQOO U3. The all-new iQOO U3 arrived as a budget 5G-ready handset that comes with a high refresh rate display, decent camera system, and a large battery.
Specifications of the iQOO U3
The iQOO U3 weighs 185.5 grams, and it measures 164.2 x 75.4 x 8.4mm. It comes with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel that has a waterdrop notch housing an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
The screen of the iQOO U3 supports HDR10, a pixel density of 401ppi, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels.
Also, the handset offers the user an aspect ratio of 20.5:9 and a 90.61 percent screen to body ratio.
On the inside, the handset runs on the Dimensity 800U processor alongside up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It features 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Unfortunately, the iQOO U3 lacks support for storage expansion.
Meanwhile, the back panel of the phone packs a unique dual-camera system housed in a rectangular-shaped module. It comprises of a 48-megapixel primary lens and a supporting lens with a 2-megapixel resolution.
For software, the iQOO U3 boots to the iQOO UI 5.1 skin based on Android 10 OS. For backup, the handset is fitted with a 5,000mAh battery that has support for 18W fast charging technology.
The phone supports connectivity features such as support for dual SIM, GPS, Wi-Fi802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Further, the phone comes with face unlock and a side-fitted fingerprint scanner and for security.
Availability and Pricing of the iQOO U3
The new iQOO U3 handset hit the Chinese market in two variants, which are 6GB RAM +128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.
These variants cost 1,498 Yuan (~$229) and 1,698 Yuan (~$259) respectively.
Presently, the phone is up for pre-order and interested customers can purchase it in black and glow blue colour options.
