Infinix Hot 2 in Kenya
Infinix Hot 2 was the first Android One phone in Africa and is coming to Kenya about three weeks after hitting stores in Kenya and one week after making it to Ghana.
Infinix Hot 2 is an entry level phone with a 5-inch HD display and an 8 megapixels camera, which are both healthy upgrades compared to its predecessor the Infinix Hot.
The display is not very bright and looks dull, but is very great for the eye, if you ask me. It also has some slight improvement in battery life with a 2200 mAh battery.
However, one of the best reason to buy the Infinix Hot 2 is that it comes with Google’s Android One seal of approval.
This means that the Hot 2 will get timely access to updates and security patches, which is very important with increased reports of vulnerability and security flaws in the Android OS.
This also means that Infinix Hot 2 will probably be one of the first affordable Android phones to run on Google’s next version of Android (version 6.0 or Marshmallow).
Infinix Hot 2 runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) on a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB or 2GB RAM. However, as at the time of publishing this rightup only the 1GB models were on sale in Jumia Kenya.
Infinix Hot 2 supports two micro SIM cards with another slot provided for a microSD card in case you want to increase the built-in 16GB storage (about 10GB is free to the user).
Infinix Hot 2 will retail in Kenya for 8,999 Ksh and will be exclusive to Jumia Kenya. It currently available in black or white, but red, blue, or gold may surface in future. Checkout the site
