The Chinese multinational Huawei is reportedly preparing to launch the second edition of Huawei Y5 with some enhancements. Named Huawei Y5 II, it is speculated to be released in some selected countries by Q2 2016.
Huawei Y5 II is expected to hang a price tag of around $165 (equivalent to approximately INR 11040 or 23,000 Naira).
The smartphone will come in six color options including white, obsidian black, arctic, sky blue, sand gold and rose pink.
In comparison with the original Y5 released back in 2015, Huawei Y5 II will be light in weight and will feature a different yet speedy SoC.
The handset will also flaunt a larger display and increased snapper pixels. An enhanced battery backup is also being speculated.
As far as the exact specs of the device are concerned, it is said to feature a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720p screen resolution.
The Huawei Y5 2 will be fueled by quad-core MediaTek MT6735P 64-bit chipset clocked at 1.3GHz along with Mali T720 GPU for graphics.
Huawei Y5 II will feature Dual SIM support. The handset will sport 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of expandable internal storage.
For connectivity, the Huawei Y5 2 will offer 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, WIFI 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 options. The device will be backed by a 2200 mAh battery and will be driven by Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 on the top.
The speculated camera specs of this latest Huawei handset hint at an 8MP back camera supported by LED flash.
The 2MP front-facing snapper designed specifically to click selfies will also be augmented with front LED flash.
The latest reports have indicated that the Chinese company is also working on Y3 II. Huawei Y3 II will be the successor of the Y3.
Huawei has yet to make an official statement about the rumors circulating in the tech arena.
