After the ban placed on Huawei by the United States Government last year, the company took a bold step to reduce its dependence on other companies and launched its Operating System. The company named the OS HarmonyOS.
According to reports from Science and Technology Innovation Express News, the Chinese firm is gearing up to unveil the second-generation version of the operating system in September 2020. The upcoming OS will be named HarmonyOS 2.0.
At launch, the HarmonyOS was aimed at several devices, but not many devices have been seen powered by the same OS. However, the firm aims at introducing the upcoming version of the OS to smartwatches, computers, and even cars.
A few months back, it was reported that Huawei is ready to make an entrance into the PC market with products powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kunpeng processors. The reports further claimed that PC’s from Huawei will run on the yet to be announced Harmony OS 2.0.
The HarmonyOS is expected to replace the Android OS on Huawei and Honor smartphones. Since the launch of the OS last year, a device is yet to launch with the company owned OS.
The company termed the HarmonyOS as a single OS that works with all product types and covers a lot.
