A couple of months back, Huawei took the covers off the Huawei Nova 7 series. The Nove 7 lineup consists of handsets like the Nova 7, Nova 7i, Nova 7 SE, and Nova 7 Pro.
Following the Nova 7 series launch, the tech giant added a new member to the Nova 7 family.
In October, Huawei announced the Nova 7 SE 5G Youth that arrived as the last member of the Nova 7 series.
Meanwhile, the company has kept customers and tech enthusiasts waiting to see what the Nova 8 series would offer.
In that vein, Huawei launched the Nova 8 SE, which succeeds the Nova 7 SE, last month. However, the firm didn’t launch other members of the Nova 8 family until today.
China experienced the launch of the Huawei Nova 8 and Huawei Nova 8 Pro today. The smartphones come with some attractive features like support for 120Hz refresh rate and 66W charging.
The Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro smartphones come with 6.57-inch and 6.72-inch OLED panels respectively.
The Nova 8 supports a screen refresh rate of 90Hz, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
In contrast, the Pro variant of the phone support a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. Also, the display promises to deliver 1236 x 2672 pixels of Full HD+ resolution.
For the front cameras, the Nova 8 sports a single on-screen punch hole that houses a 32-megapixel snapper while the Nova 8 Pro has a pill-shaped cutout for its dual selfie camera.
The cut out on the Nova 8 Pro’s display consists of a 32-megapixel lens followed by an ultra-wide 16-megapixel shooter.
On the rear, the duo features cylindrical-shaped camera modules at the top-left corner.
The rear camera setup includes a primary 64-megapixel lens followed by an ultra-wide 8-megapixel shooter with a 120° FOV, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth assist sensor.
Internally, the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro smartphones feature the Kirin 985 chipset, which clocks at 2.58GHz. Both phones will offer users with a RAM size of 8GB and 128GB / 256GB of onboard storage.
For software, the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro will boot to the EMUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
In the power department, the Nova 8 packs a 3,800mAh battery and the Pro comes with a larger 4,000mAh cell. The duo carry support for 66W fast charging, and it takes about 35 minutes for each model to charge fully.
The Nova 8 supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, dual SIM, NFC, 5G, and USB-C port.
On the other hand, the Nova 8 Pro supports the same connectivity options, except that it features Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6.
