HTC has announced the arrival of a new mid-range smartphone, the Desire 626 Dual SIM, in India with a price tag of Rs. 14,990 (that’s about 45,000 Naira).
The smartphone comes in Blue Lagoon and White Birch colour variants and will be available with major retailers in the coming weeks. About a year ago, the Taiwanese tech firm had launched the single-SIM version of the smartphone in China, with significantly different specifications.
The new dual-SIM (Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM) supporting handset runs Android OS out of the box with HTC Sense UI on top. HTC however didn’t mention the Android version (or for that matter, the Sense UI version) that the phone will come with. , we can expect the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
The HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM features a 5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) HD display. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor that’s coupled with 2GB of RAM. It also bears 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB.
The smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 28mm lens, and LED flash. There’s a 5-megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera with a BSI sensor. The rear camera also features scene detection, panaroma, geo-tagging, best shot, smile shot, and HDR options.
Apart from 4G LTE, the HTC Desire 626 has numerous connectivity features including 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, DLNA, GLONASS, and FM radio. Other connectivity options include are Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0, and GPS.
The smartphone is powered by a 2000mAh battery and also features accelerometer, ambient light, and magnetic sensor.
