Finally, Honor has taken the covers off the much-anticipated Honor V40 5G smartphone in China. The device is the first release from the firm since it became independent of Huawei.
The Honor V40 5G is a flagship device that features 5G connectivity and a powerful MediaTek Dimensity processor.
It also comes with a massive display with 80-degree curvature on the left and right edges.
Specifications and Features of the Honor V40 5G Smartphone
The all-new Honor V40 5G has a 6.72-inch display with a pill-shaped cutout at the top-left corner.
The Honor V40 5G sets a record as the first V-series handset to debut with an OLED panel. The phone’s screen offers the user with a Full HD+ resolution of 1236 x 2676 pixel.
It also supports 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 10.7-bit colour depth.
It appears that the smartphone has the same display as the Huawei Nova 8 Pro that launched last December.
However, the brand mentioned that the Honor V40 5G offers a 92.3% screen space – that means the display is almost lacking bezels.
The Honor V40 5G weighs 186 grams and has a thickness of 8.06mm.
Under the hood, the Dimensity 1000+ 5G chip fuels Honor V40 5G smartphone. The chipset has support for dual SIM 5G connectivity.
The Honor V40 5G features 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a built-in storage space of 128GB / 256GB.
Out of the box, it arrives pre-installed with the Magic UI 4.0 skin based on Android 11 OS.
Besides, the smartphone supports GPU Turbo X acceleration engine and Hunter Boost for an improved gaming experience.
The Honor V40 5G has a rear glass panel that packs a rectangular-shaped camera module. The module houses a 50-megapixel primary snapper, an ultrawide 8-megapixel lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, a laser autofocus unit, and a LED flash.
The handset houses a 4,200mAh battery that supports 66W superfast charging. It also carries support for 50W wireless charging.
The smartphone features dual SIM slot, 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and a USB-C port.
Pricing and Availability of the Honor V40 5G
In China, the Honor V40 5G arrived in two variants. The following are their pricing details:
- 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – 3,599 Yuan (~$556)
- 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – 3,999 Yuan (~$618)
The phone comes in various colour choices like titanium silver, rose gold, and night black.
