In June, Jio Phone Next was announced during the India-based Reliance Jio’s 44th Annual General Meeting. Following the announcement, the tech brand mentioned that the smartphone would hit the shelves in September.
However, the company didn’t keep to its word. Meanwhile, Jio made a statement concerning the upcoming Jio Phone Next last month. And the statement reads that the phone would debut and be available for purchase in time for the Diwali festive season.
The information from the statement suggested that the Jio Phone Next may hit the Indian markets by the end of October or early November. While the company confirmed the new launch timeframe of the Jio Phone Next, it didn’t reveal the phone’s specifications.
Fortunately, the Jio Phone Next has surfaced on Google Play Console. And its Google Play listing has revealed a few of its specs.
Specifications of the Jio Phone Next
The Google Play listing of the Jio Phone Next says that the phone’s 5.5-inch display will support an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. And it will feature the Snapdragon 215 mobile platform alongside 2GB of RAM.
The Jio Phone Next will ship with the Android 11 Go Edition, and it will offer the user an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper and a single 13-megapixel rear camera unit.
The Jio Phone Next would likely debut in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. The 2GB RAM option may come with 16GB storage, while the 3GB RAM variant packs 32GB of internal storage. The phone may launch with a modest 2,500mAh battery.
Meanwhile, Jio and Google partnered to offer the user of the Jio Phone Next an optimized smartphone experience. The handset also promises fascinating specs like on-screen translation, India-focused camera filters, Google Assistant, and automatic read-aloud function.
Speculations say the smartphone may arrive in India with a price tag between Rs 5,000 (~$66) and Rs 7,000 (~$93).
