Gionee has launched its S6 smartphone in India today. The handset was first launched in China in 2015.
The latest Gionee smartphone has been released at the price of Rs.19, 999. The handset is available for purchase exclusively via online retailer Flipkart. Gionee S6 is being hailed as a mainstream device and is expected to contend against OnePlus X, Vibe X3 by Lenovo and Motorola Moto X Play. All these handsets hang a nearly similar price tag.
S6 by Gionee features a metal body. The device comes with a super AMOLED 5.5-inch display having 720×1280p screen resolution and also features Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The display of Gionee S6 is especially remarkable because of its super AMOLED panels. Super AMOLED panels are manufactured by Samsung and have been featured in the South Korean company’s own Galaxy handsets. But the Samsung handsets featuring super AMOLED panels are the high-end smartphones such as Note 5 and Galaxy S6. Thus, it is quite a surprise that a relatively moderate range phone includes this exclusive feature.
The handset is driven by 64-bit octa-core MT6753 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz by MediaTek. Th UI on the top is Amigo 3.1 operating system based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. In addition, the S6 by Gionee also flaunts Dual SIM support.
Additional specs for this device include a 13MP primary camera which is supported both by autofocus and LED flash support along with 5MP hearty front snapper to click selfies. The camera of this phone also features a number of modes like magic focus, night mode, panorama mode and GIF. Full HD video recording option is also available.
The handset sports 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage that can be extended up to 128GB via microSD card slot. Gionee S6 is powered by a 3150mAh battery.
