Samsung breaks protocols sometimes. This is one of such times.

The company has taken one of the devices in its budget line-up – Galaxy M51 – sending it to the Android 11 level.

Even though this is a budget device, it is the second most expensive unit in that class. Only second to the Galaxy M62, we don’t know why the latter unit did not get the update first.

At the current rate of things, though, there is a high chance that the One UI 3.1 update for the latest Galaxy M unit is in the works too.

What makes Samsung’s decision interesting is that they did not push out either of the One UI 2.5 or One UI 3.0 (based on Android 11) update to the Galaxy M51. It is just getting the 3.1 core update to Android 11.

We hope that the company continues such trends as it would drive more sales for them in the budget phone department.

If you have this device, don’t rush into looking for an update. Right now, the update is only live in Russia and we believe it is going to other parts of the world soon.
